TIPS FOR SATELLITE DISH INSTALLERS |
|

- It is very important to make sure the LNB arm is mounted on the outside (rear) of the dish mounting bracket, not sandwiched in between the bracket and the rear of the reflector.
- Please do not use a Digisat or "Bird Dog" type of satellite meter—they do not give accurate results with the universal LNB included with the MOU system.
- Make sure you are using a high quality compass to check the azimuth, that there are no large pieces of metal in the immediate area that might skew the compass, and that you hold it flat so the needle pivots freely.
- When you first turn on the receiver, it should default to the Maharishi Channel. Please do not reset or change any default settings in the receiver software. Also, please do not scan the receiver. To make sure the receiver is on the Maharishi Channel, choose OK on the remote, then select MAHARISHI from the list of channels on the left. Then choose OK again. Now press INFO* on the remote to bring up the information screen and signal strength bar. At the bottom of this screen there is a graphic (bar), which will increase in level when the signal from the dish increases. This bar should be peaked (set to maximum) by making SLIGHT adjustments in the dish azimuth and elevation.
*If you have the DBS2500 receiver press LIST/OK on the remote. A list of channels will pop up on the screen with the current channel highlighted. The “Quality” bar can now be seen in the upper left of the screen. Ignore the bar that says “Signal Strength”- use the “Quality” bar instead. Press EXIT to get back to the normal screen.
- The Galaxi-25 dish is more sensitive than the DISH Network dish. You should first set the elevation using the marks on the mount of the dish. To obtain the elevation and azimuth parameters for your city, go to the web page http://www.dmsiusa.com/dish_aligning_chart.htm
- Once the elevation has been set, VERY SLOWLY sweep the dish back and forth through the azimuth value given from the web page (above and below). Someone should watch the signal strength bar on the TV screen and communicate with you to let you know when the peak has been reached.
- If you cannot get any signal, move the elevation one degree up or down and sweep the azimuth again. Keep trying different elevation values above or below the given value—each time you try a new elevation value, stop and sweep the azimuth again. Do not sweep the elevation up and down, but stop at each new elevation and sweep the azimuth. You should get a signal using this method. The normal signal strength, as measured on the bar at the bottom of the INFO* screen, should be 20% or greater, depending on many factors such as LNB cable length, area of the country, etc.
- After the azimuth and elevation have been peaked, lock down the bolts on the dish. You may also wish to increase the signal further by loosening the two screws that hold the LNB and rotating the LNB right or left (skew) while someone is watching the signal strength meter.
- If after following these guidelines you still have difficulty, please send an email message to: mou.tech.support@maharishi.net. If you do not have email, please call 641-470-7050, extension 233.
